Intra-Club Transfers

Recently, there have been discussions about exempting intra-club transfers from the current limit of 5 transfers per team if they are registered in Tier 1. I would like to get feedback on what people think about this possible course of action and the pros and cons.

New Transfer Rule

Although transfers have always been a part of Arizona soccer, the fervor over them and the amount of them have increased recently. As a result, we are beginning to look at implementing new transfer rules. One idea is to set a specific date, maybe sometime in November, and say that if a player transfers after that date, the player is cup-tied to their old team and cannot play in state cup or state league with the new team they have transferred to. I would like to hear from everyone about problems they are encountering that relate to transfers and any ideas people would have for revising or totally revamping the transfer rule.

Support for an AYSA Lobbyist

Recently, AYSA and our member clubs have faced issues with the number of fields available for our programs and with cities creating rules and restrictions that make it harder and harder for AYSA and our members to obtain the necessary field space to accommodate the youth participation. I would like to hear from our constituency about whether they would be willing to entertain the idea of AYSA hiring a lobbyist and absorbing that cost.
